Our school is located in Kaluwanchikudy, to the south of Batticaloa. It has a long history. It was founded by Mr. T. Sabapathipillai on 1st April 1919. Following him, the school went through many stages of development over time and wasrenamed BT/Paddiruppu Government Tamil Mixed School on 1st june 1936. Thereafter , due to changes in government policy, the school was upgraded to various levels over time, including BT/Paddiruppu Government Boys' School, BT/Paddiruppu Government Junior English School, Kaluwanchikudy and Senior High School. In 1963, Mr.V.Rasalingam and Mr.C.Thambirajah were the first students from our school to gain university admission from the Arts stream via the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) examination. The following year, in 1964, the Science and Commerce streams were introduced at the Advanced Level.
Our school was upgraded as a Madhya Maha Vidyalaya in 1978. in 1988, one student was selected for the Faculty of Medicine and two for the Faculty of Science. As a result, the school gained recognition as an institution of academic excellence.
